Location

Sainte Marie de Ré is a small village of 3000 inhabitants on the southwest coast, facing the island of Oléron and the fortified tower of Fort Boyard. The city of La Rochelle, on the mainland, is connected by a bridge of about 3 km. It has a population of 75,000.
The villa is located 150 meters from the village church, 300 meters from the seaside and 5 minutes by bike from the thalassotherapy center. It is located in a quiet residential area.
The fresh produce market is located about 1000 meters away on the Place d'Antioche where other shops, such as bakery, butcher, post office, press house, tourist office, restaurant, hairdresser, gather. A medical centre and a nursing practice have also been set up there.
The pharmacy and a Carrefour Contact convenience store are a little further (800 m).

Activities 

The sea coast lends itself to fishing at low tide, exploring walks along the coast and sunbathing on the beach. A 20-minute bike ride and a 6-minute drive away, a guarded beach offers many activities: children's play areas, sailing school, boat hire and jet skis.
The island is rich in cycle paths that run along the coast or through small forests and vineyards.
Bikes can be rented in Sainte Marie.
The thalassotherapy station is a 10-minute walk away.
